Mummy Reconstruction Day 1 ~ Wayne County Historical Musuem

Day 1

The forensic reconstruction of the Wayne County Historical Museum's mummy began several weeks ago when forensic artist Brenda Robertson Stewart sculpted a replica of the original skull.

This exact 1:1 scale replica, made of Japanese paper clay, was sculpted using observations and precise measurements taken from the original skull. Scans ,x-rays and photographs were also used as reference.

The replica will be used in place of the ancient skull during the reconstruction.
